Our Top Picks For Wedding Accommodation in the Hunter Valley

Couples wanting to say ‘I do’ in our idyllic and world-renowned Hunter Valley are spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful venues. As far as romantic destinations go, it’s hard to beat. Luckily, there’s also a plethora of equally picturesque and versatile accommodation options to choose from! Reassuring? Definitely. Overwhelming? A little…

Immersed in this industry for a combined 40+ years, the team at Peppers Creek Barrel Room & Chapel has worked with countless eager newlyweds. We’ve ridden the epic highs, shared in the excitement, and helped navigate some of the more finnicky aspects of wedding planning. From boutique villas overlooking rolling emerald hills to cosy farm stays, luxury hotels and private estates surrounded by charming merlot vineyards, we’ve also seen the very best the Hunter Valley has to offer accommodation-wise. In no particular order, here are some of our favourites!

Peppers creek village

Obviously, we were joking about the ‘in no particular order part’ as our onsite accommodation is hands-down the top pick! Three stone cottages, known as ‘The Residence,’ ‘The Racquet Club’ and ‘The Yacht Club’, are located metres away from our barrel room, making them the ideal post-reception retreat for friends and family. They can comfortably accommodate up to 26 guests and are just as rustic and opulent as our Tuscan-inspired venue, with spacious bathrooms, wood fireplaces, lush outdoor settings and a private verandah.

grapevines

Across the road from Peppers Creek Barrel Room & Chapel lies Grapevines Boutique Accommodation - a handful of family-owned and operated villas nestled amongst 12 acres of manicured gardens. Heaven! The four studio villas are perfect for couples seeking a peaceful weekend getaway, while the two-bedroom and deluxe villas, with their fully equipped kitchens, sun decks and enormous living spaces, will suit larger parties craving comfort, convenience and a touch of luxury. Harrigan’s Irish Pub, Enzo Cafe and the iconic Hunter Valley Gardens are a short walk away as well!

Villa croissant

Cute name, even cuter interiors! Villa Croissant is situated in the heart of Cypress Lakes Golf Resort in Pokolbin and boasts bushland views, two spacious bedrooms, two equally spacious bathrooms, and a modern japandi design. For the uninitiated, the latter is a fancy term for an emerging architectural trend that blends Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian functionality - aka the epitome of serenity. With natural materials and a simple, inviting neutral colour palette, the emphasis is also on ultimate comfort. A home away from home!

Spicers Guesthouse

There’s so much to love about this one. Breathtaking pastoral landscape? Tick. Classic contemporary feel? Tick. A wide range of accommodation options, including garden rooms with twin beds, premium king suites with private bathrooms and living spaces, and fully self-contained, four-bedroom cottages? Tick, tick, tick! Spicers Guesthouse is centrally located too, which affords visitors easy access to the region’s many wineries, local events and award-winning restaurants.

Harrigan’s

Last but certainly not least, Harrigan’s is ideal for the budget-conscious. It’s also great for families and large groups, featuring multiple bedrooms, modern furnishings and panoramic views of the stunning Broken Back Range. Did we mention the venue’s famous pub? The most delicious Irish fare in all of the Hunter Valley!
